chicken pox?!?!

those dreaded two words... chicken pox. not only for kids, but just as much for adults. well, i am just a special one who has never had them. my brother had a mild case when he was little and i never contracted them. well, monday morning, wayne called me to tell me that his brother and sister-in-law found out that our nephew contracted them. of course, sunday i was around him and gave him a hug as i always do when i see him. wayne immediately told me to call the doctor ... just as a precaution of course. i called my friend abby (who is a nurse) to see if this is something that i really needed to be worried about. she too told me to call my doctor. so, i put a call in to the nurse at my doctors office. after i searched webmd and found that the chicken pox could really hurt my baby, i.e. from birth defects to death, i finally got a hold of her. she wanted me to come in and have blood drawn. they would test for vericella titers. i later found out that vericella is the medical term for chicken pox and i am still not really sure what titers mean. abby explained it, but it is definately more of a medical thing that the average person can't really understand (well, i guess i am considered an average person). so, i went this morning to have my blood drawn... i have no bumps or ichy spots yet. the nurse told me that i could just be immune to the virus. if so, that would be awesome -- because i sure don't want to get it now. it is so much harder as an adult! it takes a few days for the results to come back so i will try to update later in the week to let you know how it goes. just keep us in your prayers... we just couldn't handle the dreaded chicken pox right now!

I'll pray for you. There's no need to worry about it anyway, it's all in His controll. See ya.
