getting ready

went back to the doctor today... i would say it was a pretty good appointment. the doctor was able to get a very good monitor on jackson's heartbeat. he took his measurements of my belly and told me that from what he could tell, jackson was down pretty far. he told me that he would be really surprised if i made it to my due date. and then, he said, "maybe i will just see you this weekend..."

THIS WEEKEND!?!?! i really think that reality set in for wayne and i both. honestly, i don't feel at this moment that he will come this weekend. i still think he is going to be a week late, but ... but... this weekend?!?! are we really ready for him to arrive this weekend? are we really ready for him to arrive at all? yes, we are very excited, but are we ready?

wayne has really shown his excitement this evening. he has re-played the events and what the doctor said all evening. oh, and talk about nesting! i believe that has struck wayne and not me. he wants to make sure that everything is "just right" before jackson gets here. i wish some of that nesting syndrome would hit me. i just don't have the desire to do anything right now. maybe as the time gets closer, it will happen. we will see.

we are going to the fire department wednesday to have the car seat put in and i think that will be about everything that we absolutely have to do before he gets here. everything else can be done when we get back home. (not that we really have lots to do -- thanks to wayne.)
